Hello Kindergarten Families!

Feels as Autumn is here. Hoping all enjoyed a cooler weekend. Field trip to UC Hansen Farm is on Thursday. Be sure to ask your child all about it!

We enjoyed our first Primary Centers activity and want to thank all who were able to help in class. Look for the beautiful crafts and art coming home to decorate for Autumn!

A look at the coming month: Conference are being scheduled – many parents have set the day and time to come and visit. If you have not chosen a date please check your email as I have sent out calendars to pencil days/times you are available.

We celebrated two September birthday girls last week, Aubrey and Emily! October is Aidan’s month, his birthday is coming soon!

Following our Religion Standards we are noting objects in Church and learning the order of Mass. We have been practicing genuflecting and making the Sign of the Cross correctly. Our religion Promise book has us reflecting on God’s Promises. We are also reading from the Children’s Bible.

ELA – our focus letter for the first of the week is /a/, we are also learning about vowels and consonants. Printing correctly is another task hard at work! Reading Workshop finds us reading and rereading to rethink, and retell their book. They will be looking for a part of the book they can relate to. We call it adding a ‘pinch of you.’ Writing workshop continues with narrative samples. We are working on things we did or want to do.

Math finds us working on number combinations, using a variety of math manipulative counters and blocks. We need to sort money looking for attributes in each coin, penny, nickel and dime. If we have time we will measure and chart our body height.

Science – we will do a mystery science lesson on seasons. Social studies looking at difference seasons how it effects people and animals near and far.

We can hardly wait for our off campus field trip – remember to turn in permission slips.

~Blessings to your family,

Mrs. Brown
