Kindergarten students are learning how to conduct surveys and graph the results. In small groups we visited third grade, fifth grade and sixth grade classrooms with simple survey questions. We found some interesting results!

The questions asked in 3rd grade: favorite color red or blue? Do you like camping at the beach or the mountains? Color blue and the beach were most popular.

Fifth grade were surveyed with questions: do you like cats or dogs, cookies or cupcakes. We found cupcakes and dogs most popular; although when given they option of do you like both … most agreed upon both types of pets and sweets.

When we visited the sixth grade classroom, eighth grade students were in class to answer our questions. Most agreed that both Dr. Seuss books, Green Eggs and Ham and Cat in the Hat are well liked, interestingly 2 friends answered they do not care for either book. Green Eggs took the most votes. We also found out that sprinkles is clearly the favorite doughnut; ten students did raise their hand for chocolate glaze, and 15 liked both. One friend told us she did not care for either type of doughnut.

Thank you for the time to survey your students – Mrs. Brown
