Students are coming home today with the permission slip for our next field trip. We will be going to Olivas Adobe on March 1st. Please return the permission form and payment as soon as possible. We will be going to Stations of the Cross on Wednesday at 2 p.m. You are most welcome to join us if you can!
THE WEEK AHEAD:
HOMEWORK (due next Tuesday): Students will be working on the following ixL skills: Math D 5 and D 6, and Language F 2 . We are doing fluency #23, and students should be reading for 20-30 minutes per night. Students should complete the Math Boxes on pages 121 and 125 by Friday.
DAILY WORK
Religion: If you haven’t sent in matches for your Lenten art project, please do so as soon as possible. We continue talking about Lent, personal and Internet safety, and hopefully moving on to the 4th commandment.
Math: We continue work on Unit 5, with two-digit multiplication being the main focus this week. We continue to drill on basic multiplication facts as well.
Reading Workshop: This week we will begin a short unit on biographies. Students will be able to select books from the classroom selections and on Wednesday from the school library.
Writing Workshop: We continue working on our personal essays.
Spelling: We are working on Unit 21; the test will be on Friday.
Vocabulary: We begin work on unit 11; the test will be next Friday.
Grammar: This week we continue our study of adjectives.
Science: We continue our study of earthquakes and volcanoes.
Social Studies: We have finished reading magazines 12 and 13, and will have a test on Thursday. Click here for a copy of the study sheet. study sheet 12-13 Students should be gathering information for their mission posters; we will work on these next week, in preparation for the School Fair, to be held on March 14th.
