It brings me great joy to be back in the fourth-grade classroom for a while. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. and Mrs. Basamanowicz as they await the arrival of their baby.

The week ahead in 4thgrade:

Math: We have started Unit 4, which focuses on decimals.  Please refer to the handout, sent home today, for an overview.

Reading: We have started a unit on non-fiction reading.  I want students to have one non-fiction book at school at all times, but they may continue reading chapter books as well.  Remember to keep up with the Reading Response Journals! If you have any questions, please contact me. Remember nightly homework is to read 20-30 minutes!

Writing: We have started a unit on opinion writing.

Spelling: We are working from Unit 13. Again, we have 25 words written in our daily planners, but we will only be tested on 20. We will be taking our test later this week. Remember that these words are also available on SpellingCity.com.

Vocabulary: We begin Unit 6 this week; test will be next week.

Social Studies: We begin chapter 2, learning about the early CA Indians and the European explorers.

Science: We begin chapter 3 this week.

Religion: We are reading chapter 10 and will have a quiz on Friday.

Homework:

Monday: Reading response journal and Math study link page 108

Tuesday: Reading response journal and Math study link page 110

Wednesday: Reading response journal and ixL Math skill T 1

Thursday: Reading response journal and ixL Math skill T 3
