Progress reports will be coming home tomorrow, along with the latest work packet. Please sign and return the progress report by May 11th. This Friday is a half-day; it is our Annual Jogathon! As a fundraiser, the eighth graders will be selling Propel water before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 8 and 10 & May 15 and 17; the cost is $1.

THE WEEK AHEAD:

HOMEWORK: Students will be doing the following ixL skills this week: Math I 1 and I 2, and Language F 8. We will be doing Fluency #32, and students should be reading for 20-30 minutes per night. The reading log, ixL skills and fluency homework will be due next Monday. No Math Boxes homework this week.

DAILY WORK

Religion: We will be discussing our final commandment, the 8th commandment.

Math: We begin Unit 7, which focuses on fractions.

Reading Workshop: We continue reading our historical fiction “book club” selections. Students should be jotting about their books in their composition notebooks.

Writing Workshop: We continue work on our informational books.

Spelling: We are working on Unit 33; because of the jogathon, the test will be on Thursday this week..

Vocabulary: We are on Unit 15; the test will be next Friday.

Grammar: We are wrapping up work on the use of prepositional phrases. We will have a unit test next week.

Science: We move on to the study of electricity.
