Hi Kindergarten Families,

I hope all enjoyed a nice weekend with thoughts of MLK and his movement. We will continue to reflect on his message of love and treatment for all people.

This Friday we have a school family activity at 1:45. More information coming later in the week.

Religion lessons will concentrate on Jesus and his miracles and parables. We will be using our Religion text as well as the Promise Weeklies.

We have started a new unit in Reading. We are using our Super Powers for reading by learning more sight words and sounding out letters and reading words. Using pictures to match with words for pictures for better comprehension. Narrative writing continues as we learn to use a check list to polish our skills and make our writing easy to read. Phonics and word work continue with letters and sounds and learning more sight words.

Math finds us working with addition and subtraction, using the erasing folders. We will begin to use the number line and other strategies on the chart in our binders. Counting coins too, pennies, nickels and dimes.

Science – changes winter brings to plants and animals

Social studies continues with Martin Luther King Jr ‘s message.

Blessings,

Mrs. Brown
