Dear Second Grade Families,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! We’re off and running with a new year and many new things to do. Stay tuned for all the news.
Thank you to all parents and students for my super class gift and Christmas wishes. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. The gingerbread houses were a great success. Thank you especially to room moms for all their organizing, collecting, etc., and to all who participated by helping with the creations. Thank you to Therese Touchette for her help with the burlap prep for the hand wreaths.
FLAT PEOPLE UPDATE:  We are continuing to receive weekly letters, postcards, and photographs. Please continue to encourage your flat person host to still participate in this program throughout January. (Parents, you may need to make a phone call). All mail needs to be sent to school. We will be sending a letter at the beginning of February requesting the return of our visiting friends. We are still enjoying the great experience. This week all students will need to bring in a picture-postcard from their own city to send to their host. (Students should know something about the place).  If you live in Ventura, a Ventura postcard; if you live in Oxnard, an Oxnard postcard, etc. Since we have received postcards from all over, it will be fun to send something from our area. We will be writing these in class. Please have them in by this Thursday. Thank you.
Please remember to supply your student with a healthy snack and lunch, and breakfast before school. Please be a label reader.
JANUARY HOMEWORK CALENDAR and BOOK-IT will go home today and are due on Monday, January 31.  December’s activities are due today.
