Tomorrow I will be sending home a work packet and your child’s first progress report. Please sign and return the report by this Friday. This Wednesday will be a free dress ($1 donation). Friday is a full day.

THE WEEK AHEAD:

Religion: We have finished the first three chapters, which constitute Unit One. We will have a test on Unit One on Wednesday. Click here for a copy of the study sheet, which students received today. unit-1-religion-study-guide

Math: We continue Unit Two, focusing on data, addition and subtraction. Students need to complete ixL Math skills J 6, J 7 and B 2 by next Monday.

Reading Workshop: We continue learning strategies for becoming stronger readers. Students should be reading the same book at school and at home, using a new reading log at the start of each week. Reading Fluency: Students should complete fluency homework #7. This will be due next Monday.

Writer’s Workshop: We are writing our drafts of our realistic fiction stories!

Spelling: There will not be a test this week, as we are reviewing units 1-5.

Vocabulary: We begin our study of Unit 4 words. The test will be next week.

Grammar: We will conclude our first unit this week, anticipating a test early next week.

Social Studies: Students continue reading issues three and four of Studies Weekly, learning more about the four geographical regions of California. Last week in lab groupings we made relief maps of the state, and we will paint those this week.

Science: We continue learning about land and water ecosystems. We will have a test on this chapter next week.
