Dear Kindergarten families,

February is here! Two special days coming the 100th Day of School and Valentine’s Day!

Our Academic week:

Religion – hearts are good – learning about the special gift God puts in our hearts to share with others.

Language arts – learning the vowel sounds of short and long vowels. Daily writing in our journals. Reading fiction and non-fiction books, finishing up syllables with our word work.

Math – learning to read and count tally marks – counting by fives.

Science – land and water mammals- we will take a day break from polar animals to learn about groundhogs on Thursday.

Social studies – learning about the continents North and South America.

Homework:

100 Day project and tally mark worksheet. Find the 100 day bag in your child’s backpack, if it is too small please tape it to a larger bag.

Reading nightly for 20 minutes. Have your child practice on first skill on vowels finding the short vowels A-O. Some friends skill need practice on A and E.

100 Day bags may be small for your child’s items – if so tape to larger bag.
