Dear Fifth Grade Families,

I am so proud of the class and their finished School Fair projects.  Everyone did a great job. I hope to see everyone at the School Fair on Wednesday, March 2, at 6:30.  Donut sales will be all this week for $1.00.  Donuts will be delivered on March 8th.  Tuesday we will participate in World Math Day.

Below is an overview of our week:

Religion:  This week we will be focusing on the Apostles’ Creed.  We will also be talking about the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Voc:  Unit 10 is our focus.

Spelling:  This week is an overview of units 19-23.  I have started to give the students their spelling words on Fridays for the following week.  I think it will be beneficial for some studnts to have that extra practice time.

Math:  This week our focus is preparing for the Chapter 7 test on fractions.  The test will be this Thursday.  The students have worked very diligently on fractions.

Science:  We will begin Chapter 6 which is all about weather. The focus of this week will be on Earth’s Atmosphere.

Social Studies:  We will continue with our study of the Middle Colonies.

Literature:  Brer Rabbit and Brer Cooter Race is our story for the week.

English:  All week we will be working on subject, predicate and compound sentences.
