Dear Families,

As a class we really enjoyed watching our Kindergarten buddies at the Saint Parade.

This Tuesday, November 9th we will be taking our first field trip to the Santa Barbara Museum.  Please make sure to return your permission slip for the field trip.  Please remember that students will be in full uniform.

In observance of Veteran’s Day we will not have school on Thursday.  Please enjoy the time together with your family.  Friday will be the donut sale.  The donuts will be given out at recess.

On Saturday, November 13, the Joseph Palmisano Basketball Clinic will be at Balboa Middle School.  Please check the school website for further information.

I am now posting my weekly letter on the school website.

Below is an overview of our week.

Religion:  We will be focusing on God’s gift of Family.  We will be discussing each of our family’s customs and traditions.

Math:   We will continue Chapter 3, which is all about multiplication.

Science:  We will be learning about the Digestive System in Chapter 3.

Social Studies:  This week our will review Chapter 2 and prepare for our test on Wednesday.

English: We will continue our review of unit 5, which is on grammar.

Voc:  Monday will be the Unit 4 test.  Then we will begin a cumulative study of units 1-4.

Spelling:  This week our spelling words are from unit 10, the study of compound words.

Reading:  We will continue with our novel The Indian in the Cupboard.

Literature: We are continuing our story, The Circuit.
