Hello Third Grade Families!
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. The class was back in action today, busy as ever beginning the process of closing out our first trimester of 3rd grade. The last day of the trimester is Friday, November 21st.
In class this week, we’ll be studying the following:
Math: We will continue Unit 4 (Multiplication and Division!!!) with lessons 4.2 and 4.3. The class will be working with arrays as well as the multiplication/division diagram as we learn all about equal shares and equal groups. As always, I suggest using the Home Links at www.everydaymathonline.com for extra practice with skills learned in class. Your child’s username and password can be found in his/her planner.
For IXL math homework, please complete the following Third Grade skills:

Spelling: Click here to download this week’s spelling words and pattern/principle. Our next spelling test will be on Monday.
Vocabulary: We will begin Unit 7. For a list of the words, definitions and additional practice go to the vocabulary workshop site. Instructions, along with a username and password, can be found taped on the inside cover of your child’s planner.
Reading: Library day is Thursday (tomorrow)! Please remind your child to bring any books that are checked out so that they may be renewed or check back in.

English: The class will wrap up our current unit with a review. The Unit 2 test is still scheduled for Tuesday, November 18th. Log on to the Grammar Workshop website for additional practice as well as interactive practice quizzes! Directions can be found in your child’s planner.
Science: We will spend Wednesday reviewing Chapter 7 in preparation for the test on Thursday.
Social Studies: The class will learn all about Veteran’s Day!
Religion: The class will complete Chapter 3: We are God’s Holy People. Our next religion quiz is scheduled for Wednesday, November 19th. Click here for the Study Guide.
