Sneak Peek to our Academic Week

math: This week we begin a new math unit! This week we will review some multiplication skills and apply them to multiplying several numbers together.

reading: In our character study, as we follow our main characters up the story mountain, we will pay close attention to the climax of our stories. As we focus on the climax, we also focus on how our characters respond/react to big trouble.

writing: As we continue on with our opinion writing, we will focus on make big and bold opinions.By doing so, we will also work on directing our audience directly in our speeches.

word work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner. Our spelling test is scheduled for this Friday.

religion: As we continue on with our Lenten journey, we will dive into Chapter 17 in our religion books, Jesus Christ is Lord and King. We will discuss and learn all about how Jesus returned to heavenly glory at the Ascension. We will be attending Stations of the Cross at 2p on Friday. If your schedule allows, please join us!

social studies: We continue on with researching the different Native American Indian tribes of California, then use that research to complete a group project.

science: We will explore the mystery, why are some apples red and some green? as we learn all about plant domestication and how thousands of years ago we chose plants from the wild, such as tiny apples, and by carefully selecting seeds, we’ve made them sweeter and bigger!

Have a wonderful week!

Blessings,
Miss Poindexter
