Some friendly reminders for this week and next…
- Thursday 4/21 is the very last day for In-N-Out orders. No tickets will be sold after this day.
- Wednesday 4/27 is the intermediate Spring program. Plan to arrive a little before the show begins at 6:30. The students are practicing in the Hall now and they look & sound adorable!
Math: We are on to a new chapter: Unit 9 – Multiplication and Division. This time we are focusing on more complex, multi-digit multiplication and division. If you are not practicing your math facts at home, I highly recommend that you set aside about ten minutes a day to do so since we will build on that knowledge as we go forth.
IXL Homework:
K.4 Division Facts for 6, 7, 8 and 9
G.5 Multiplication Tables for 6, 7, 8 and 9
L.2 Divide Numbers Ending in Zeroes
Reading: This week we will learn all about reading with accuracy by using beginning and ending sounds when decoding words. This is an important skill for readers of all levels, so I would encourage everyone to read up on it. Click here for more on this skill.
Fluency: Click here for this week’s fluency homework.
Reading Log: Students should log in a minimum of 100 minutes of reading this week.
Word Work: Our next test will be on Friday. As a reminder, students are periodically assessed with “Spell Checks” – cumulative reviews. So take some time over the course of your studies to practice words from the recent past.
Poetry Recitations: Students will be reciting their poems for the class throughout the week. Finalists will be selected on Friday.
Science: This week is all about changing habitats through fire, flood, drought and pollution.
Social Studies: We will continue our unit on Government and Citizenship, now learning about the three branches of government.
Religion: Moving forward, the class begins Chapter 17: Jesus Christ is Lord and King.
Best,
Ms. Espinosa
