Sneak Peek to our Academic Week

Math: This week we wrap up Unit 7! On Tuesday we will review the trickier concepts from Unit 7, then we will take our test this Wednesday. Study guides will be sent home on Tuesday. Towards the end of the week we will begin Unit 8…fractions!

Reading: We continue on with our character studies. We have focused heavily on the main characters of our texts. However, secondary characters are important, too! This week we will notice the roles that those secondary characters play in the main character’s journey.

Writing: In writing we will work to set goals for ourselves as we begin the writing process of our opinion pieces. Up until this point we have learned about the different strategies we can use in order to start the opinion writing process. Now we will put those strategies to use as we gather all the information we know about our opinions.

Word Work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Thursday.

Religion: This week is all about Lent! We will take the time to prepare for our Lenten journey together.

Social Studies:  We continue on with American Indians. This week we will discuss how different CA tribes used the land around them.
