Dearest Third Grade Families,
Trimester 2 Report Cards go home Tuesday. Look for them in your child’s work folder. Please remember to sign & return the envelope so that it may be used for the final Report Card in June.
This week we’ll be studying the following:
Math: The class will continue Unit 7 (Multiplication and Division) covering lessons 7.5,7.6, 7.7 and 7.8. The Unit 7 Test will take place next Thursday, April 3rd. As always, I would encourage you to follow along with us by completing the “Home Links” at www.everydaymathonline.com. Your child’s username and password can be found in his/her planner.
Likewise, we continue to practice our multiplication and division facts. Take a look in your child’s planner for the latest progress report and individual goal. As a reminder, this is part of the nightly homework.

Reading & Writing: Click here to download the new Reading Log. The class will continue with persuasive writing by moving on to the drafting stage of the writing process.
English: The class will continue with Unit 4: Adjectives and Adverbs with Lessons 27 (A, An, The) and 28 (Comparing with Adjectives). Additional practice and exercises are always available at the Grammar Workshop website.
Spelling: Click here to download this week’s spelling words and pattern/principle. Don’t forget that the words for every unit are also available on www.spellingcity.com. Here you can find fun games and an interactive online practice test.
Vocabulary: This week we will complete Unit 14. Our next vocabulary quiz will be this Friday. As a reminder, all words as well as activities and a practice quiz can be found at the Vocabulary Workshop website.
Science: We will continue Chapter 5, “Cycles and Patterns in Space” with Lesson 2: Seasons. The class is also pleased to welcome Dr. Rob Rzasa (chemist! & parent!) as he guest teaches his third science lab with us Tuesday morning.
Social Studies: The students will continue to learn about the Branches of Government focusing on the differences between the Legislative, Judicial and Executive branches.
Religion: The class will wrap up Chapter 23, “God Forgives Us,” with a quiz on Thursday. Click here for the Study Guide. Monday morning we will also go to confession in the church followed by Stations at 2:00
