This week in class…
Math: The class continues with Chapter 9: Multiplication and Division, Part III. This week the class will be introduced to another way of finding products: the “lattice method.” If you are unfamiliar with this, below is a video link with step-by-step directions:

This week’s math homework assignment is as follows:
-IXL Skill E.11 Multiply a 1 digit number by a larger number – word problems
-IXL Skill R. 16 Compare area and perimeter of 2 figures.
Complete this Everyday Math Home Link using the lattice method. Print, complete and staple to weekly homework. Due Monday.
Spelling: Click here for this week’s spelling words/pattern. Due to the holiday, our next spelling test will be on Tuesday, May 26th.
Vocabulary: This week we continue Unit 17. Go to the Vocabulary Workshop website for words and definitions. Login information can be found in your child’s planner.
Grammar: We are to continue with Unit 6: Capitalization, Punctuation and Spelling. This week the students will cover Lesson 43 “Abbreviations.”
Reading: Our guided reading groups continue with a variety of books meeting the needs of all our students.

Science: We are scheduled to finish Chapter 1 this week as we turn our attention to “Aquatic Habitats.” The test is scheduled for Friday, May 29th.
