Dear third grade families,

This week we will continue with ITBS testing. As always, please make sure that your child is well rested and at school on time every morning, as we will begin testing promptly at 8:00 and continue up until recess. In third grade, students also take the CogAT test to assess students’ abilities in reasoning and problem solving using verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal (spatial) symbols. Due to this testing, our classroom academic load will be noticeably lighter this week.

This Tuesday we will also have our first quiz for math chapter 3 (addition and subtraction). The quiz will cover adding and estimating and, as with all math quizzes, will be available for correction and return for full credit after it is scored.

On Thursday we will enjoy our first Harvest of the Month for the year. We all eagerly look forward to whatever treat Mrs. Hoffman will be sharing with our class. On this day we will visit the SHS library as well. Please remind your child to bring his/her library books to school this day so that two new books may be checked out.

As a reminder, Friday is a noon dismissal day.
