Dear Third Grade Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed the Labor Day weekend. I’m sure it felt good to get an extra day of rest for us all.
Friday is Grandparents’ Day! I look forward to sharing the morning with many grandmothers and granddads. Grandparents are to meet us early at 8:30 mass with a reception in the Hall to follow.
In class this week, we’ll be studying the following:
Math: Unit 1 Lessons 1.7-1.8. We continue to review key content. Feel free to follow along with us at www.everydaymathonline.com. Your child’s username and password can be found in his/her planner.

Reading: As a reminder, Thursdays are our school library days. Please remind your child to bring any books that are checked out so that they may be renewed or check back in. We will continue reading The Stories Julian Tells focusing on story development and character traits.

English: We will continue with Unit 1 in our Grammar books, “Sentences.” We will complete Lesson 3, “Commands and Exclamations!”
Science: In class, we will begin to study Chapter 6, Lesson 2 “States of Matter.” We will also made our second trip into the science lab! Next week, our first lab write-ups will go home.
Social Studies: We will work with regions of California in our Social Studies Weekly readers. We will also learn about naturalist, preservationsist and founder of the Sierra Club, John Muir!
Religion: We will wrap up Chapter 1 with our first religion quiz on Thursday. Click here for a Study Guide.
