Dear Kindergarten Parents and Families,

I am happy to welcome your student to our school! I want to thank the families that were able to attend orientation last Tuesday. Your children came ready to learn. I am excited to begin on Wednesday and see all your children again. They are a great group of children-it is a time of making new friends and building community with families at our school. Some students told me they know each other from pre-K and/or have siblings or cousins in other grades!

School starts at 7:50 each day. In the morning we meet and line up in the courtyard area between 7:35-7:50. Please look for two big ‘K’ letters on the cement.  We line up with boys on the left and girls on the right, facing towards our classroom.  Please bring in supplies on Wednesday morning if you did not do so last Tuesday. Towels for rest time need to be here by Monday. Our first  3 days end with a 12:00 dismissal-no time for resting!

A reminder for homework…..all I need is the reading log. Please bring the reading log sheet(s) on Wednesday. I have been tracking your children as they reviewed/practiced pre-k math and started with Kindergarten concepts. Wonderful work and lots of awards for your children. I am truly impressed with the work they did. The typing web was difficult for those little hands to make the stretch- recognizing letter location is the beginning skill I was hoping for.

If your child will be going to Extended Day Care program (EDC), it is important let me know with a note if I do not see you before school. In the classroom, I have a check off list for EDC. Please feel free to come in class and √ off the days your child is attending.

On Wednesday morning we come into class, drop off supplies and walk out to the courtyard for a welcoming assembly. Parents are welcome to join us- when assembly is over… students will make that separation from parents as we return to begin our day.

This week we will be going to Mass at 8:30 with our 4th grade buddies on Thursday and Friday. Please join us if your schedule permits …….parents are always welcome!

Thank you for your children it is going to be a wonderful year!
