Hello!

We are really getting into the swing of things now, working to build stamina and momentum as we begin to establish our daily classroom routines. This week we will have our first homework assignment too, slowly building each week until we reach full speed.

As previously mentioned, reading is most fun when we cozy up in a great spot with a book we love. Your first homework assignment is to bring in a photo of yourself reading a favorite book. It can be at home, on vacation, inside, outside, alone or with a partner; It’s up to you, so have fun with it. These won’t be due until Tuesday 8/29, at which point we will be putting them up on a classroom bulletin board (so be prepared for all to enjoy). This will be the kick off for reading Unit 1: Building a Reading Life and is just a fun way to share your love of reading.

All regular homework will begin next week.

As we get up and running, please be sure to change your child’s grade level to third before placing any hot lunch orders.

Finally, the students will begin music and P.E. classes this week. From now on, please send your child to school wearing his/her P.E. uniform on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
