Dear Kindergarten Families,

This will prove to be an exciting week! Academically we will be busy as always and have the grand finale on Friday with our Valentine exchange. On Tuesday Progress Reports will come home. Please sign and return by Tuesday, February 17. Wednesday is a free dress cost $1.00 for the Make – A – Wish mission efforts. Friday is a noon dismissal and a free dress (no cost)!!

Morality and Social Justice: We are learning how Jesus taught love by His example and story. Chapter 15, Hands are Good teaches us our hands are a blessing and help us share love. I started the Virtus 2 part lesson, Protecting God’s Children on Friday and we will finish on Monday.

ELA: Our reading strategy is to evaluate. We think about how stories make us feel, the favorite part and/or characters. Comprehension focus is realism and fantasy. Focus letter /q/, sentence structure, ‘it’ and ‘ig’ families, and correct letter formation.

EM: measurement, counting by 5s and tally marks. Count by 5s and 10s and using the 100 chart. At home practice math daily using booklet 3.

Science: We will continue on building our landforms with research on animal differences and similarities.

Social Studies: President’s Day and some fun facts on all our presidents.

**Remember to bring back library books to check out a new one on Thursday.

This should take us through the week 🙂

Thank you for your children!

Mrs. Carol Brown
