Sneak Peek to our Academic Week

math: This week in our unit 7 math, we will begin with extended facts of multiplication and division. If we know 3 x 2=6, then we should know the extended fact of 300×2=600, because of those zeros!

reading: As we continue to study the main characters in our books, we will dive into a new read aloud: Make Way for Dyamonde Daniel. In this story, we will work with studying the main character Dyamonde, as well as compare and contrast her to the main character of our previous read aloud, Because of Winn Dixie.

writing: As we continue on with our opinion writing, we will focus on adding all we know about our topic to our writing. The more specific details we include, the more convincing we become! Then, we will work to categorize and organize our ideas.

word work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner. Our spelling test is scheduled for this Friday.

religion: As we continue on with our Lenten journey, we will work through Chapter 18, Jesus Gives the Spirit to the Church. Here we will discuss the Holy Spirit, learning all about how it empowers the Church and our lives.

social studies: We continue on with researching the different Native American Indian tribes of California, then use that research to complete a group project!

science: This week we will complete an Easter themed STEM activity!

Have an amazing week!

Blessings,
Miss Poindexter
