Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
math: This week we begin Unit 8, fractions! This week we will begin understanding that fractions are a part of one whole. Then, we will work to practice identifying the parts of a fraction as well as writing them properly.
reading: This week we begin our new reading unit, Research Clubs! In this unit we work together in research club groups to research animals. Then, the unit will end with a big group project!
writing: As we continue on with our opinion writing, we will work to come up with our final seed ideas, then, set the way to organize our ideas before drafting.
word work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner. Our spelling test is scheduled for this Friday.
religion: This week we will spend some time reflecting on Easter.
science: This week we will learn about plant domestication & how thousands of years ago we chose plants from the wild, such as tiny apples. By carefully selecting seeds generation after generation, we’ve made them sweeter and bigger!
Have an awesome week!
Blessings,
Miss Poindexter
