I hope you all enjoyed your spring break with your family and friends.

Homework: FLUENCY HOMEWORK, Reading Log (20 minutes a day/100 minutes a week) and IXL:  G.4; F.7; and W.1

In addition to their weekly homework, students are required to have their poem turned in by Wednesday. I sent home a note with the requirements for this year’s poem contest the week before we began our spring break.

Religion: Unit 4: Jesus Gives Us the Gift of Himself…Children will be familiar with the parts of the Mass.

Reading:  We continue working on comparing and contrasting text. We have read three different versions of The Three Little Pigs. We will begin to compare and contrast the stories as a whole group.  We will continue practicing our reading skills during small reading groups.

Writing:  Persuasive writing will be introduced this week.

Spelling:  We will begin our sorts this week. Spelling test will be on Friday.

Grammar: Adverb review/Collective Nouns/ Plural & Singular Nouns

Math:  We will wrap up Unit 6 by Wednesday. Students will take their math test on Thursday. We will begin Unit 7 by the end of the week.

Events this week:

Tuesday & Thursday: P.E.

Thursday: Library Books due

Friday: Full Day

If you still need to fulfill service hours, please let me know. Our pillows, pillowcases, and rugs are in need of a little freshening up. I also have a larger project that entails some cutting of burlap and gluing dowels on the burlap. The project will be available to take home on Friday.
