Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
math: We continue on with our multiplication and division unit! This week we will focus on multiplication/division fact families. Fact families allow us to see the relationship between multiplication and division as well as help build our fact fluency.
reading: We continue to work hard in our differentiated, small reading groups as we continue to practice the skills at our level. As a whole class, we are learning all about point of view this week. As readers, it is important to look at a story from the point of view of other characters.
writing: In our personal narrative pieces, we will work on adding more details to our writing, paying close attention to word choice. When we choose the correct words to convey our story, it becomes much more engaging for the reader!
word work: Our differentiated spelling groups are back up and running! We will study the spelling patterns in our words throughout the week. Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner and on their Kids A-Z app.
religion: This week we will begin to prepare our minds and hearts for the season of Advent. Advent begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas. This year, it is December 3rd. This week we will begin to discuss the meaning of Advent and why it is such an important time for us.
social studies: This week we will trace the ways in which people use natural resources in order to modify the physical environment. For example, building a bridge or constructing a dam.
Have a wonderful week!
