Sneak Peek to our Academic Week

math: This week we will begin learning all about decimals! This week we will start with the basics of relating decimals to money, then we will work on modeling tenths and hundredths with base 10 blocks.

reading: In our mystery unit we will begin our second mystery read aloud: The Diamond Mystery. This week we will work to discover the red herrings that authors often put into their mystery texts!

writing: In our informational writing we will work to punctuate paragraphs as well as work on revisions. We will use our writing partners to help us get our writing into tip-top shape!

word work: Word lists can be found in your child’s planner. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.

religion: This week we will run through our VIRTUS lessons.

social studies: No social studies this week. Instead, we will be making our love monster bags and get them ready for our Valentine exchange!

science: This week we will learn all about flowers: what they do for the plant, how they work, and why they grow flowers!
