We are reaching the end of our second trimester. Two down, one to go! Time flies when you’re having fun!

Sneak Peek to our Academic Week

math: This week we will work with different polygons (regular and irregular) as well as angles. We will learn all about how to draw angles and how to measure them.

reading: In our character study reading unit, we will continue to analyze the main character, Opal, in our class read aloud, Because of Winn Dixie. This week we will work to develop theories about our characters. We will pay close attention to the patterns of their behaviors. What are they doing across the book that continues to support their character traits?

writing: This week we will take a short break from writer’s workshop and work hard on our class project for the school showcase next week!

word work: Word work lists can be found in your child’s planner. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.

religion: This week we will embark on Chapter 15, all about how Jesus suffered and died for us. On Wednesday, at 2:15p, we will be attending Stations of the Cross as our 8th grade friends lead. This will continue on for every Wednesday leading up to Easter! If your schedule allows, please come join us!

science: Mrs. Ruiz will be bringing in her baby chicks! We will get a hands on experience with our little friends as we get to learn all about them; their behaviors, how they are cared for, etc!

art: We have an art lesson with Miss Sofer this week!
