Sneak Peek to our Academic Week

math: This week we continue to work on addition and subtracting whole numbers using a variety of different strategies and tools; in-out boxes, part-part-total boxes, and number change stories.

reading: This week in reading, we will work on re-telling. It is always good to do comprehension checks of re-telling as you read. However, when re-telling, we only want to include the IMPORTANT parts of the story… every itty bitty detail isn’t always needed! 🙂

writing: This week we continue with our personal narratives. We will work on choosing our final seed idea for our narrative stories. Then, we will use all the writing skills we have learned thus far and apply it to our new pieces.

word work: Our word work groups are in full swing! Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner. Our spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.

religion: This week we will take a short pause on our religion books and give our full attention to our Saint Reports. This week we will choose the Saints that we will research.

Also, great news! We will be back in church and attending Friday Mass this week! If your schedule allows, please join us at 8:30a.

science: This week we will focus all on the the creepy, crawly topic: spiders. We will explore the huge variety of spiders that exist!

Have an amazing week! 🙂
