Third grade families,
Happy Monday… a whole lot of rain coming our way! I enjoyed meeting with you all last week. Thank you for taking the time to come in. It’s always great to celebrate the success and progress made by our kiddos!

- math: We are wrapping up & review our multiplication & division unit. We are set to take our unit test this Wednesday.
- reading: We continue on with our non-fiction reading unit. This week we will choose a topic that we would like to become experts in. Among books on those topics, we will work to identify the main idea & supporting details. Then, we will spend time working on our non-fiction comprehension by note taking & jotting down important ideas as we finish up sections of our reading. This will help us prepare to teach others about our topic!
- writing: This week we begin our informational writing unit!
- word work: We continue practicing our spelling patterns in small groups. Word lists can be found in your child’s planner.
- religion: This week we discuss how God is powerful & loving. We will read all about how Moses split the sea for the Israelites.
- social studies: All about Martin Luther King Jr!
Thank you for your constant support!
Stay dry & warm,
Miss Poindexter
