On Tuesday we celebrate the 100th Day of School! I cannot believe have been together 100 days. Time flies when you’re having fun!

  • math: This week we will begin unit 5, working with bigger numbers! This week we will review place value through hundred-thousands.
  • reading: We have begin our next reading unit, Character study! As we begin new books together, we will pay close attention to our main characters and paying close attention to their words and actions in order to describe them and their character traits.
  • writing: We will work on expert words and making sure we include them in our informational writing. Expert words are vocabulary words specific to a topic. When teaching about a topic, we always need to include that great vocabulary!
  • word work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner and on Kids/Vocabulary A-Z. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.
  • religion: We continue on with The Ten Commandments, looking deeply into each one and thinking of ways to apply these commandments into our everyday lives.
  • social studies: After learning about the CA landforms last week, we will discuss how people use the resources of the local region and modified/changed the physical environment. For example, dams, buildings, etc.
