Sneak Peek to our Academic Week-
Math: This week we will work through lessons 5.5-5.7. Through this segment, we will work with really large numbers, working through adding and subtracting them. Then, we will work through decimals!
Reading: In our non-fiction unit, we will continue to read for significance, by paying attention to the best spots to stop and jot notes. Non-fiction books contain a lot of information and great facts, so we continue to work on effective note taking.
Writing: In our information writing, we will do some research on our writing topics, paying attention to details that we can add to our pieces to make them stronger. Then, we will step into revising our writing.
Word Work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner as well as spellingcity.com. Tests are scheduled for this Thursday. No spelling words next week!
Religion: This week we will spend our week talking all about Advent and all the beautiful things we can do during this second week to prepare for Baby Jesus’ arrival.
Social Studies: This week we will read and learn about Christmas around the world!
Stay warm!
Blessings,
Miss Poindexter
