Sneak peek to our Academic Week

  • Math: We continue with Unit 7! This week we will continue to work with number models with parentheses. We know that that the parentheses say, “solve me first!” Then, we will begin working with extended facts and working with multiples of ten, for example, 2 x 40=80 or 3 x 900=2,700.
  • Reading: We continue reading Because of Winn Dixie, focusing heavily on the characters in the text. This week we will read and notice how characters often times face big trouble in stories, paying close attention to how they react to the trouble.
  • Writing: Opinion writing! We continue with our opinion writing, as we begin to generate opinion pieces. As we do this, we will work with the different opinion writing strategies that we have learned so far.
  • Religion: This week we wrap up The Ten Commandments. Later, we will begin to prepare for our Lenten journey next week.
  • Word Work: no words and/or spelling tests this week.
  • Science: We will explore the question, why are some apples red and some green? During this exploration, will learn all about plant selection.
  • Social Studies: This week we begin out unit on American Indians, first focusing on Tribes of California.

Have a blessed week!
