Sneak Peek of our Academic Week

math: We have completed our two foundational math units. Now, we begin multiplication and division this week! First, we will work on the foundation of multiplication and division. Before we begin working on the facts, we need to make sure we understand what it means to multiply and divide.

reading: In our class read aloud, Charlotte’s Web we will work on vocabulary. There are a lot of big, important words in Charlotte’s Web. We will spend time making sure we understand the meanings of these vocabulary words in order to make more sense of our story.

In our small, differentiated reading groups, we are practicing all of the reading skills at our own levels.

writing: We continue working on our personal narratives! This week we will work on adding dialogue to out stories. It is important to incorporate how and what people are saying in our stories.

word work: We continue on with Words Their Way! This is our differentiated spelling program where we focus on spelling patterns to help us become the best spellers we can be! Spelling words can be found on Vocabulary A-Z + in your child’s planner. It’s always great to practice these throughout the week!

religion: This week is all about Saints as we celebrate them this Wednesday on All Saint’s Day! We will also spend some time learning about the bible story all about Jesus’ Baptism.

We will be attending 8:30a mass this Wednesday and Friday! Please come join us if your schedule allows!

science: All about skulls & skeletons! Why are our bones important? What would happen if we did not have them?

Have an awesome week!
