Sneak Peek To Our Academic Week

  • math: Geometry! This week will focus on measuring angles and work with polyhedrons as we work to identify 3D shapes & their attributes. Our unit 6 math test is scheduled for this Thursday.
  • reading: This week we will begin our research clubs! In this unit, we work together and collaborate in small groups to research different animals. We work together to read, comprehend, and create a final project!
  • writing: We continue on with our opinion pieces, working on establishing STRONG opinions and convincing reasons to support our opinions.
  • word work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner & on the Kids A-Z app in their kindle. In our small, differentiated groups, we continue with our word study, thinking about our spelling patterns and applying them to ALL words, not just the ones on our list! Spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.
  • religion: This week we will discuss and learn all about Pope Francis.
  • social studies: This week we will work together in small groups as we collaborate & research a specific CA Native American Indian Tribe. We will read all about the tribe’s lifestyle; food, clothing, shelter, region, etc. As we conclude the research portion, each group will work together on creating and building their own dioramas highlighting their tribes.
  • science: All about Earth Day! What can we do to protect our Earth?

Have a wonderful week,
Miss Poindexter
