Hi there, 4th Grade Families! I hope you all had a wonderful day together this past Monday.

Important Dates:

  • Friday, October 15: 12pm Dismissal

Homework:

  • IXL Math:
    • D.5 – Multiplication facts to 12: find the missing factor
    • E.3 – Division facts to 12
  • 20-30 minutes of reading, 5 times a week
    • 5 Reading Responses

Our Week:

  • Math: We will take our Unit 2 math test on Wednesday! Students have demonstrated understanding of working with data to find median, modes, and ranges! We will also test our skills of multi-digit addition and subtraction before we head into Multiplication and Division this week!
  • Reading: With our novel study, The Tiger Rising, we are taking a look at how we can interpret stories. We have focused a lot on characters this unit, but we are discussing how we can look at all the details: setting, mood, and recurring objects to help us learn what our book is trying to teach us!
  • Writing: We are wrapping up and revising our Realistic Fiction stories and looking at mentor texts to guide us in that work!
  • Religion: We continue on with Chapter 4: God Offers Us Eternal Life.
  • Science: This week we start learning about the Birth of Rocks! We started with a group exploration and discussion of a fossil bed found in Nebraska!
  • Social Studies: Students will discover more about how the Native People of California utilized the land of CA.

Let’s have a great short week!
