Hello Families, I hope you are having a lovely start to your week. Welcome to the 3rd Trimester!

Important Dates:

  • Wednesday, 3/15: Stations of the Cross at 2p.
  • Thursday, 3/16: Last day to order sweets for the showcase
  • Friday, 3/17: Almost Spring Sweets & Showcase! We hope to see you there!
  • Friday, 3/17: 2p dismissal & Saint Patrick’s Day!

Homework:

  • IXL Math: (Remember, the goal is NOT 100 — please encourage students to attempt the skills and to do their best)
    • E.11: Divide 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers
    • A.20: Rounding: up to hundred thousands place 
  • 20-30 minutes of reading, 5 times a week – 5 Reading Responses (Tuesday-Tuesday)
    • This week for their journal responses, students can read nonfiction or fiction books. Please have them use the menus as their guide.

Our Week:

  • Math – We spend this week reviewing skills learned in this trimester, as well as take some assessments to show our progress! Our next unit of study is fractions.
  • Reading – We continue reading The Island of the Blue Dolphins and practice making text to: text, self, and world connections!
  • Writing – We finish writing up our reports for each of the sections of our Mission studies.
  • Social Studies – Students learn more about the CA Indian experience of the mission system. Our projects will be displayed at the Showcase on Friday!
  • Science – We wrap up our sound studies. Last week, students got to test out an oscilloscope!
  • Religion – Students took their chapter 11 quiz today about God’s name being holy. We will learn about St. Patrick this week and attend The Stations of the Cross on Wednesday.
