Dear Fifth Grade Families,

Thank you everyone who donated a teddy bear for our Adopt-A-Family mission.  The students had a wonderful time today.

Report cards will be sent home on Tuesday.  I look forward to meeting with everyone this week for conferences.  For the three days of conferences school will be dismissed at 11:30.

Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes.   Please have Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).

Below is an overview of our week.

Math:   We will focus on divisibility rules.  For problem solving skills we will be interpreting remainders in word problems.  We will have our chapter 4 test next Tuesday.

Science: We will be analyzing how communities get fresh water from both underground sources and surface sources.

Vocabulary: Unit 6. We will have our unit 6 test on Thursday.

Social Studies: We will be discussing the relationship between the fur trade with Europeans and the Huron and Iroquois nations.

English: We will be focusing on quotations and adverbs.

Religion:  Our focus is Advent.  Our Saint of the month is St. Nicholas.

Literature:  We will continue reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.
