Hello Families!
This past week was Catholic Schools Week. We had a wonderful time having the 8th graders do religion, science, and social activities with us! In class, we continued with our fairy tale unit. We read The Elves and the Shoemaker, and The Three Bears. They are becoming experts at taking apart a story and saying what the elements, the characters, and the settings, are in the story.
In math, we worked on word problems and became better at using a subtraction strategy we chose to use on our own. They were introduced to the “Frames and Arrows” table and we filled in the rule that was stated in the box.
During religion, we are learning more about the Rosary so we can understand how to move the beads as we say two decades of the Rosary during Mass on Fridays.
The 100th Day of school is Tuesday. If you haven’t turned in your 100-item collection…Tuesday is the day! First grade has many fun activities to enjoy that are planned. We are excited! Thank you for the donation of stickers for our hat activity!
Stay warm and dry this week!
