Hello- We started our week nice and warm but will be cooling down for a few days. Please be sure to send sweaters to school since morning recess can be a little chilly.

A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR ACADEMICS

Language Arts: We continue learning to reread books to help us become fluent readers. We begin our new unit this week along with reading poems.

We continue identifying Homophones and Antynons (opposites) especially in some of our spelling sorts.

Phonics: We are making words using parts to make words longer. For example, an, stan, stand, standing. The kids had fun trying to make the longest words with only the letters I assigned.

Math: We will be learning about fact families.

Writing: We will start our opinion writing. I bet we have lots of opinions!

Science: Last week, we learned why butterflies are so colorful. This week we continue learning about MATTER through our text book(solid, liquid, gas). We will get to do our lab next week. 🙂
