A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR ACADEMICS

Language Arts:

Phonics: We are learning each others names by spelling them, clapping for syllables, and looking for beginning sounds, and other patterns we spot in each others names.

Reading: We are learning to take a sneak peek when reading a new book. We will be getting out book bags soon.

Writing: We begin writing about small moments.

Math: Skipping counting will be our main focus. We are skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. Please practice at home.

Example: Count by 5’s start at 40. Count by 2’s start at 30. Count by 10’s start at 40. Challenge: Count by 10’s start at 67.

Religion: Students have our journal prayer routine down. They will be showing their special friend/grandparents on Friday how they write in their prayer journal.

Science: Why do birds have beaks? Students will investigate the relationship between the bird’s beak and what they eat. 🙂
