Hello Families!

We have a three day weekend coming up! Don’t forget that Friday is an early dismissal.

A reminder that next week we will take our spelling test on Tuesday instead of Monday.

Weekly Homework

Homework due EVERY Tuesday

Fluency: Fluency

Reading Challenge: It is about LOVE this month!

Math IXL: B.5 and F.5

Students must be able to spell their last name correctly without looking at their name tag by the end of this trimester. If you need extra lined paper, please be sure to send me an email or a note in your child’s planner to request paper.

Sneak Peek to our Academic Week

Word Work: New sorts this week. Spelling Test on Tuesday.

Reading: It continues to be all about non-fiction. If you are reading at home, please stop to ask what they remember about the topic. Have them repeat the information to another sibling or adult at home. They can always write about it and give me the information!

Writing/Grammar: We continue our information writing. We are learning to use transitional words such as first, then, next, and finally. Students have taken ownership of their writing. Students are electing to write about a topic or how to book when writing.

Math: Unit 4: It’s all about measurement and temperature. We will observe temperature daily in class. We will work on measurement using centimeters and inches.

Things to review at home: Time to the hour and half hour, math facts for addition and subtraction to 20, knowing 10 more and 10 less (what is 10 more than 36 or 10 less than 36), measuring in inches and centimeters using a ruler/measuring tape, and reading a tally table or graph (IXL can be used for this).

Religion: We are learning about “Loving thy Neighbor.”

Social Studies: Presidents

Science: When can you see the full moon?

Reminders:

  • Homework is due Tuesday.
  • Monday: No School, President’s Day
  • Library Books due on Tuesday due to being off on Monday.
  • Friday: 12 pm Dismissal

REMINDER: ALWAYS CHECK THE SCHOOL WEBSITE FOR ADDITIONAL EVENTS OR ANNOUNCEMENTS.

If you have any questions, please send me an email.

Blessings,

Mrs. Vazquez
