March is a great month for reading! Kindergartners will spend more time reading in class this month.

Homework is to read for 20 minutes + each night and report on two books. Post book responses forms on Seesaw. Book report homework is due each Tuesday. As you read, spend time on sight words.

During Lent we are forgiving others, learning to to do good and be joyful. Our text lesson tells us how we are Church learn about God as a family and with friends and church as a place of worship.

Phonics continues with letters and sounds. Spelling sight words and CVC words. We are working short vowel /a/ word families. (at, an, ag, ap)

Writing workshop begins the informational unit of writing. We start with “How to Books” so we can teach how to make or do something we are good at!

Math for the next weeks will be working with the number grid, subtraction, and counting coins. In class we will use pennies, nickels, dimes. At home count coins with your child. Counting money is a challenge for young learners.

Science lessons will continue the unit on winter and arctic animals.

Friday we have an in class prayer service at 11:00 with school ending at 11:45.
