We had a nice Valentine exchange! Thanks to all for the cards, school supplies, air hugs, flowers and candy!!

This short week will be busy learning together putting forth our best efforts!

Kindles are being used each day for Zoom groups. More posting of our daily work on Seesaw. And this will be homework if not completed in class. Please keep Kindles charged up!

Today is Ash Wednesday. We will have a school celebration to receive ashes. Our religion focus will focus on respect, caring for others and forgiveness.

Phonics finds us working on sounds – beginning, vowels and ending consonants. Reading strategies are to find sight words and noting picture cues.

Reading nightly for 20 minutes – ask questions about story or facts to build comprehension. Please report on two book responses each week from most enjoyed reading material. I have posted a non-fiction and a fiction book response on Seesaw it is your child’s choice on books to report on. I will send home master copies so your child can do the work on paper and then post to Seesaw.

We will wrap up our narrative writing this week. Next week we begin our informational writing with simple “how to’ writing pieces.

A lot of Social Studies lessons during Black History month. We will touch on Chinese New Year and learn a little about Washington and Lincoln in honor of President’s Day. We will take a small break from Science this week.
