Dear Kindergarten Families,

Here we go a new month! Comparing the season of Lent as springtime helps us understand new life. We grow stronger in God’s love through prayer and good deeds. Ash Wednesday we planted seeds and will watch and record the growth through Lent.

Thursday we will attend Mass as there is no school on Friday. Please join us if you schedule permits.

Today is the birthday of Dr. Seuss! Through this month we celebrate his love for reading. Reading workshop, phonics, and writer’s workshop will be centered around several of Dr. Seuss’ books.

  • Religion – Promise Weekly – First Sunday of Lent
  • A Mystery Science lesson on Tuesday on penguins.
  • New sorts for Words their Way – word families and beginning sounds.
  • Phonics – new snap words: be, me, and we. Letter sounds, stretching out sounds writing longer words. Using our letter knowledge to spell.
  • Math finds us comparing standard and non-standard units of measure, the number grid for identifying double and triple digit numbers, counting by 5’s, and estimation.

That should take us through the week!

Blessings,

Mrs. Brown
