Dear Kindergarten Families,

I hope all enjoyed a very happy Mother’s Day with your loved ones.

Thanking all families for their support of the Jogathan on Friday. It was a great day we all had a blast! I can only imagine your children slept soundly that night 🙂

We begin another busy and fun week:

Announcements

  • IN -N- OUT and Dippin Dots forms are due on Tuesday
  • Used uniform sale Tuesday starts at 2:00
  • Wednesday we have our Music program. It begins at 6p – be here at 5:30 please read Mr. Hinojosa email forwarded to you Sunday afternoon.
  • Wednesday is a free dress please send in $$$ to support St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
  • Friday – join your child for lunch-  grilled cheese or hamburgers begin at 11:30.
  • Friday is a full day of school.

Academics

Jesus, the Light of the World! We will discuss and do an activity showing how Jesus shines in all of us. And how to shine His love and light on others.

ELA – continues with Reading Workshop using our ‘super’ powers to read sight words, sound out words, reading smoothly as we read and reread each sentence in our leveled books. Writing Workshop ‘writers write to make the world better’ making signs or speech bubbles in our writing finding ways to help others and our Earth. Spelling tests on list 5 of our sight words. We will be tested on ‘you, can, an, am, no’. I also will dictate a simple sentence with some of these words.

Everyday Math – elapsed time, math story subtraction problems and a collection graph. If you have a few stickers at home your child may ask to bring some in.  Each day this week and next we will add to a class graph, using our addition and subtraction skills.

Science – sense of taste lab on Tuesday.

Social studies continues with our American Symbols – Liberty Bell this week.
