Dear Kindergarten families,

This is the week and Friday is the day for our annual Saints Parade! Our religion lessons continue with learning about our saint as well as each other’s saint. We will do a paper in class as well as a picture.

Homework for parents is to get your child’s saints costume together and prepare your child for their saint video on Seesaw.

Look for an email Tuesday with Seesaw directions for the Saints’ presentation. Our Seesaw presentation is to tell something about your child’s saint. They will be dressed in costume.

Language arts lessons – word work with syllables and learning the sight words from Mabel’s book. Please practice these words with your child. Keep book at home; we have one at school, too. We will be using sight words when writing sentences and looking for those words as we read. And knowing how to spell sight words. Writing workshop we will begin to write the beginning, middle and ending of our true stories.

Math finds us working on counting and writing numbers 1s to 20. Learning to take apart a given number to understand what addends make that sum. Skip counting by 10s and starting with 5s. Using coins for place value, using dime, nickel and pennies.

Science and Social studies lessons pair up together for Thanksgiving. Birds, turkeys, and how they “display” themselves is the mystery science lesson. How was Thanksgiving celebrated long ago and comparing to today’s celebrations.

We will have music on Monday and Wednesday.

Motor skills on Tuesday and Thursday – PE clothes can be worn each day.

It’s going to be a saintly and blessed week!

Mrs. Brown
