Dear Kindergarten Families,

Tuesday look for the Family envelope and your child’s mid progress report. Please review and sign; return by Monday, October 14.

  • Monday is vision screening.
  • Picture re-take is on Wednesday.

Fall days are here! Weather being cooler, warm and dry is bringing some dryness and the need for chap stick. I am fine with your children bringing in a regular chap stick. Please no lip gloss or the big egg shaped type lip balm. And please do not forget to bring water bottles. We need to hydrate often.

Praying the Rosary will be part of out religion lessons this month. We will attend a Living Rosary on October 23 at 1:30, please join us if your schedule permits. We will learn about the lives of several Saints during the next few weeks.

I hope all parents are thinking about saints for their children to represent as we prepare for the Saints Parade in November. Please send me an email when you choose your child’s saint.

ELA – focusing on letters and students names. We have been breaking down names with syllables and finding vowels. This week we will focus on letter Tt and Bb as well as a word ‘me’. Words Their Way finds us categorizing shapes this week and a new sort “Clothing” sorting by what we wear during the summer and winter seasons. Reading Workshop will begin to read beginner books and worksheets for comprehension. Writing continues with narrative drawing/writing.

Math has us working with Ten Frames and addition with objects and to understand doubles and addition combinations 1-10. We will review patterns with sound, motion, color and shapes.

A Mystery Science lesson on Spiders and continued discussion of Fall and changes in seasons. Social studies finds us looking at maps.

Blessings,

Mrs. Brown
