READING:  We finish our unit on being nonfiction experts by retelling topics just not just books.

PHONICS: We started a new unit looking at how to build words syllable by syllable. We are also checking for vowels in every syllable.

SPELLING: Spelling tests will be on Friday, February 26.

MATH: This week’s lessons focus on subtraction strategies: counting up, counting back, thinking money, and using manipulatives.

RELIGION: In Chapter 16, we celebrate God’s Love as we learn how Jesus offers the gift of himself during Mass.

WRITER’S WORKSHOP: We continue writing opinions about our favorite books by nominating our favorite books for awards. We are also proving our opinions by adding quotes from our books.

SOCIAL STUDIES: We continue working on our personal timelines.
