ACADEMICS

Reading: We are learning how to use the lingo specific to our topic in nonfiction books through the use of bold words, labels, and glossaries. We are also using context clues to help us understand the meaning of unknown lingo.

Phonics: We continue reviewing phonological awareness. Our focus this week is making words with -r controlled vowels (-er, -or, -ar, -ir, and -ur).

Spelling: Your child’s sort can be found in their planner and Homework Folder. Spelling tests will be on Monday, November 22.

Math: We start Unit 3 this week – Place Value, Money, and Time. We will be learning place value using base-10 blocks, and we are reviewing the value of coins to make purchases.

Writing: We are making final revisions and edits so we can publish our personal narrative writings.

Religion: We will be learning how to follow Jesus and share his love with others. In addition, we will be reviewing our understanding of the Ten Commandments.
